PROJECT "FRESHEN –UP"

We are inviting parishioners to come and clean the church on Thursday, March 20^th. Please bring your buckets, cleaning materials and members of your family.

BULLETIN CONNECTION

Jesus is the One who accepts the plan of God, even if he does not understand it. That is what we celebrate this day: acceptance. Do you believe that God has an overall plan for your life? Do you have anything to say about it? Or are you able to cooperate with that plan and work diligently to make it grow within your heart? That is what Jesus did. He did not know the plan but had faith to work in concert with God's providence.

PGHFaith

"Doubt in Christian Life" is the topic for this month's session of our Parish Group for Handing on the Faith (PGHFaith). The session will help you to reflect on your experiences of faith and doubt, so that you can understand yourself better and help others who face doubts. We will meet this Sunday, March 16, at 10:00 a.m. in Marsico Library off the back hallway of the Pastoral Center.

GETTING TO KNOW EACH OTHER

The Second Vatican Council sought to "encourage . . . mutual understanding and appreciation between Christians and Jews." Forty years later, this work continues. Our March guest for "Catholic Conversations" is Lisa Steindel, director of the Pittsburgh chapter of the American Jewish Committee. Ms. Steindel has extensive experience in fostering closer relations between Jewish and Christian communities. We will welcome her to St. Scholastica on Wednesday evening, March 26, at 7:30 in the Pastoral Center. The focus of our conversation will be "getting to know each other." If you attend, you will be welcome to join in the talk.

MAY THEY REST IN PEACE

Please pray for Denise Donnelly and Chuck Tortorette who died and were given Christian burial from our parish this past week. May their souls and the souls of all the faithful departed rest in peace.

RESPECT LIFE COMMITTEE

There will be a Respect Life Meeting on Tuesday, March 18, in the Pastoral Center, 7:30 pm. Everyone welcome.

YOUTH HAPPENINGS!

Thursday evening March 27th join us in the Pastoral Center for Rock Band! 7-9pm. Bring $2.00 and a friend! All teens are welcome.

Friday March 28~Meet us at the Mills Food Court at 12 Noon for lunch, then a scavenger hunt. After the scavenger hunt we will play mini golf. Pick up at 4pm. All teen and tweens welcome. Adult chaperones also needed. No RSVP needed.

Saturday April 5 HABITAT FOR HUMANITY All teens and adults are welcome. Meet at 8:45 at Target in Harmar. Will return by 2Pm. Lunch is provided. Teens must have permission form. RSVP by Thursday April 3 to youth ministry office or jamiedillon@comcast.net.

Saturday, April 5~YOUTH MASS 6PM. Singers and Musicians report at 4:30. We also need gift bearers and greeters!

Appalachia Collection~The weekend of April 5 & 6 teens who will be attending this year's mission trip to Appalachia will be collecting at the doors after all the Masses. Please be generous in your support of this ministry.

April 26^th~Mark your calendars for our Second Annual Family Fun Run/Walk at Hartwood acres. Pets and strollers welcome! All proceeds benefit our mission trip to Appalachia.

Faith Heroes: Vacation Bible School~June 16-20^th~9:00-12:00~This is for youth ages 5-9. 10 year olds are welcome as Jr. counselors. Senior high students as counselors. This year, each day we will explore 2 different heroes of our faith: 1 man and 1 women. As usual the week will be loaded with fun and games, as well as faith. If registered by May 1, Cost is $15.00 per child. $25.00 for 2 Children, $5.00 for each additional child thereafter. After May 2, All Children are $25.00. SACRAMENTS

INFANT BAPTISM is celebrated at noon on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month. Please make arrangements with the parish secretary at least 2 weeks prior to the desired date.

ADULT BAPTISM The R.C.I.A. program sees to the needs of adults who wish to become Catholic. Call the pastor for information.

RECONCILIATION (CONFESSION) is celebrated on Saturday, after 9:00 a.m. Mass and after Saturday evening Mass, and also by appointment.

EUCHARISTIC LITURGY SCHEDULE:

Weekday Masses: Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m.

Saturday Morning - 9:00 a.m.

Weekend Masses: Saturday Evening 6:00 p.m.

HOLY EUCHARIST is available for those who are sick and confined to home. Call the parish office and we will bring the Eucharist to you.

ANOINTING OF THE SICK is available for those who are chronically or seriously ill. Call the parish office. A service for Anointing of the Sick will be conducted annually.

MARRIAGE Anyone who wishes to marry should contact the pastor at least six months prior to the desired date. Anyone who is married in a civil ceremony and wishes to sacramentalize the marriage should contact the pastor. Anyone planning to celebrate their 25th or 50th anniversary should contact the parish office well in advance of the desired date.

HOLY ORDERS Please call the pastor if you feel you might be called to the priesthood or the diaconate.
