EASTER BLESSING

May the Risen Lord, who redeemed us from our sins through his suffering, death and resurrection, bless you on this Easter day.

PRE-SCHOOL OPEN HOUSE AT CHRIST THE DIVINE TEACHER CATHOLIC ACADEMY (3 and 4 year old classes) Sunday, April 6, 2008~10:00 am – 1:00 pm Located on the corner of 3^rd and Maple behind St. Scholastica Church. Go through the Monsignor Krauss Entrance to the gym. Drop-in to meet the Pre-school teacher and take a look at the classroom. Registrations for the 2008-2009 school year are now being accepted. Tuition assistance is available for those who qualify.

TERRI'S DAY, MARCH 31^ST

Monday, March 31st is a "Day of Prayer and Remembrance for Terri Schindler Schiavo and All of Our Vulnerable Brothers and Sisters." (Terri's Day). The Parish is invited to a Remembrance Program on Monday, March 31st at 7:30pm, in the Pastoral Center. We will discuss the dignity of every human life, despite disability or disease, and the ethical demands of caring for the weak and vulnerable. Documents for Power of Attorney and End of Life Decisions will be available.

BULLETIN CONNECTION

This is the day the Lord has made. This is the day all other Sundays recall. This is the day that sums up our faith. This is the day the Lord rose triumphant from his grave. He wasn't pretending to be dead; he died. He wasn't performing a spectacular trick; he rose from his grave, alive. How can we grasp the magnitude of this miracle?

It is even more amazing that we are actually called to take part in this miracle. We, too, are called to rise to new life. The catechumens among us were buried with Christ in the waters of baptism at the Easter Vigil. They have risen to new life as Christians, have received the Holy Spirit and have eaten Christ's body and blood for the first time. The rest of us have once again died to sin and risen to a new beginning as disciples of the Lord. This is a new day. Let us be glad and rejoice in it.

EVENING OF REFLECTION FOR THOSE WHO ARE SEPARATED OR DIVORCED

The annulment process, or Declaration of Marriage Nullity, as it is properly called, is often misunderstood. Anyone interested in learning about this process is invited to attend a special program at St. Paul Seminary on Wednesday, April 16, 2008 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The presenter will be Fr. Brian Welding, Tribunal Judicial Vicar for the Diocese of Pittsburgh. This program is free and open to the public. A free will offering will be accepted. PROTECTING GOD'S CHILDREN WORKSHOP

Anyone who serves in a volunteer capacity in our parish and/or school is required to register on the Diocesan On Line Database. As part of the registration process you are required to attend the "Protecting God's Children Workshop". If you have not completed this segment of the process, we are offering the workshop at St. Scholastica on Thursday, April 10 at 6:30 p.m. in the Pastoral Center. To register for this workshop go to www.vitrus.org. Only online registration will be taken and seating is limited.

CATHOLIC CONVERSATIONS

"Catholic Conversations" is a monthly series that aims for informative, lively, and interactive talk on subjects related to faith. Our guest this month is Lisa Steindel, director of the Pittsburgh chapter of the American Jewish Committee, who will visit on Wednesday, March 26, from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. in the Pastoral Center. Ms. Steindel has been involved in a number of projects that encourage understanding among religious groups. The session will begin as an interview. As the interview develops into a conversation, people who attend will be welcome to join in it. Our conversation is expected to center on the theme of Jews and Christians getting to know each other. Adults and older teens are welcome to attend. There is no fee or registration.

YOUTH HAPPENINGS

Appalachia Collection~Our youth who will be participating in this year's mission trip to Appalachia will be collecting after all the Masses the weekend of April 5 &6. Please be generous.

Come and Play Rock Band~Thursday March 27th in the Pastoral Center from 7-8:30 pm. All teens are welcome.Bring a snack to share.

Scavenger Hunt at the Mills and Mini Golf.~Friday March 28th. Meet at the food court at 12:30. All teens welcome. No RSVP. Must bring a permission form and money to cover your golf. Adult chaperones also needed.

Family Fun Run/Walk 5K~Saturday April 26th. 10 am at Hartwood Acres. All proceeds benefit Appalachia Mission Trip. Pick up a form at the church entrances.

SACRAMENTS

INFANT BAPTISM is celebrated at noon on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month. Please make arrangements with the parish secretary at least 2 weeks prior to the desired date.

ADULT BAPTISM The R.C.I.A. program sees to the needs of adults who wish to become Catholic. Call the pastor for information.

RECONCILIATION (CONFESSION) is celebrated on Saturday, after 9:00 a.m. Mass and after Saturday evening Mass, and also by appointment.

EUCHARISTIC LITURGY SCHEDULE:

Weekday Masses: Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m.

Saturday Morning - 9:00 a.m.

Weekend Masses: Saturday Evening 6:00 p.m.

HOLY EUCHARIST is available for those who are sick and confined to home. Call the parish office and we will bring the Eucharist to you.

ANOINTING OF THE SICK is available for those who are chronically or seriously ill. Call the parish office. A service for Anointing of the Sick will be conducted annually.

MARRIAGE Anyone who wishes to marry should contact the pastor at least six months prior to the desired date. Anyone who is married in a civil ceremony and wishes to sacramentalize the marriage should contact the pastor. Anyone planning to celebrate their 25th or 50th anniversary should contact the parish office well in advance of the desired date.

HOLY ORDERS Please call the pastor if you feel you might be called to the priesthood or the diaconate.
