This is the day all other Sundays recall. This is the day that sums up our faith. This is the day the Lord rose triumphant from his grave. He wasn't pretending to be dead; he died. He wasn't performing a spectacular trick; he rose from his grave, alive. How can we grasp the magnitude of this miracle?

It is even more amazing that we are actually called to take part in this miracle. We, too, are called to rise to new life. The catechumens among us were buried with Christ in the waters of baptism at the Easter Vigil. They have risen to new life as Christians, have received the Holy Spirit and have eaten Christ's body and blood for the first time. The rest of us have once again died to sin and risen to a new beginning as disciples of the Lord. This is a new day. Let us be glad and rejoice in it.

EVENING OF REFLECTION FOR THOSE WHO ARE SEPARATED OR DIVORCED

The annulment process, or Declaration of Marriage Nullity, as it is properly called, is often misunderstood.
