AQUINAS GUILD MAY MEETING

The Aquinas Guild will hold a "high tea" on Wednesday, May 7, at their last meeting of the season. It will begin at noon in the Pastoral Center with an assortment of croissant and tea sandwiches, fruits and pastries on the menu. The day will include an informative presentation by Laura Kacy on the history and etiquette of tea and its health benefits. Members are welcome to bring guests but reservations are required. The cost is $15 per person. To make a reservation, send your check, payable to the Aquinas Guild, to Eleanor Liberatore, 18 Fourth Street, Aspinwall, PA 15215. Deadline for reservations is May 2. CATHOLIC CONVERSATIONS WITH BILL DEASY

Bill Deasy's songs tell tales of seekers—struggling with love, marked by loss and their own limitations, and with an eye on a redemption that seems as near as the road they travel and as far away as the sky. Join us in the Pastoral Center on Thursday evening, May 1, at 8:00 p.m. (following evening Mass for Ascension Thursday) as we talk with Bill about his music and its meaning. Bill was lead vocalist for the Gathering Field in the 1990s before launching a solo career. He is beginning a new collaboration called Thomas Jefferson's Aeroplane. "Catholic Conversations" is a monthly series that aims for informative, lively, and interactive talk on subjects related to faith. Adults and older teens are welcome to attend. There is no fee or registration. Please note that this is mainly a conversation rather than a performance, although Bill is planning to bring his guitar.

BULLETIN CONNECTION

Last Sunday Jesus reassured us that all we need is faith in him. As all of us who live the Christian life know, faith in Christ leads to a whole new way of being. Faith in Christ first of all leads to love for him. Love for Christ, he assures us today, must lead to life in him, and life in Christ is a moral life, a life obedient to his commandments. If we love him we will do more than speak of that love. We will keep his commandments. This is the measure that will be used to show that we believe in Christ and love him. This is how we follow him. Keep his commandments. They are not mere laws, rules to be memorized, commands to stifle us or trip us up. The commandments are a Way of Life, a gift that gives us true freedom.

SACRAMENTS

INFANT BAPTISM is celebrated at noon on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month. Please make arrangements with the parish secretary at least 2 weeks prior to the desired date.

ADULT BAPTISM The R.C.I.A. program sees to the needs of adults who wish to become Catholic. Call the pastor for information.

RECONCILIATION (CONFESSION) is celebrated on Saturday, after 9:00 a.m. Mass and after Saturday evening Mass, and also by appointment.

EUCHARISTIC LITURGY SCHEDULE:

Weekday Masses: Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m.

Saturday Morning - 9:00 a.m.

Weekend Masses: Saturday Evening 6:00 p.m.

HOLY EUCHARIST is available for those who are sick and confined to home. Call the parish office and we will bring the Eucharist to you.

ANOINTING OF THE SICK is available for those who are chronically or seriously ill. Call the parish office. A service for Anointing of the Sick will be conducted annually.

MARRIAGE Anyone who wishes to marry should contact the pastor at least six months prior to the desired date. Anyone who is married in a civil ceremony and wishes to sacramentalize the marriage should contact the pastor. Anyone planning to celebrate their 25th or 50th anniversary should contact the parish office well in advance of the desired date.

HOLY ORDERS Please call the pastor if you feel you might be called to the priesthood or the diaconate.
