Our educational programs carry on the work of catechesis, which one church document defines as the “essential ministry of the Church through which the teachings of Christ have been passed on to believers throughout the ages.” (National Directory for Catechesis, 6)
Catechesis attends to learning and study, but involves more. Its goals are broad: conversion to the Lord, faith lived through membership in the Christian community, and Christian discipleship in the world. So it is a matter of head and heart and hands, study and spirituality and service.
› Elementary Religious Education
Elementary Religious Education is a religious education program for elementary school children, kindergarten through grade 8, who attend public or private school. Preparation for the sacraments of Reconciliation, Eucharist, and Confirmation are part of the religious education program. more »
› Youth Ministry
The Youth Ministry's mission is to help and encourage teens to build a lasting relationship with Christ, reinforcing that faith growth does not end with Confirmation. The focus of the program is the development of Christian values and leadership skills through a variety of activities that include worship, Bible study, community service, fellowship and sports. more »
› Adult Faith Formation
Faith formation for adults seeks to foster the relationship between the real person of Jesus Christ and the real persons of our time and place. This is a lifelong task. The whole life of the Christian community—our worship, our social activities, our good works—helps to form each one of us in Christ. In some activities, however, we consciously promote an encounter between the living word of God and our own experience. more »
