› Infant Baptism

Congratulations on your pregnancy, and best wishes for your child's birth!

Please notify our parish office several months before your baby's birth.  Some preparation is required, and we offer a seminar presented by Mr. Andrew Bechman of our parish staff. For scheduled dates for baptismal preparation, see the calendar.

When your child is born, please request a birth certificate for our parish records.

One Catholic godparent is required for your child and for the baptism ceremony.  A second Catholic godparent may be chosen.  If two are chosen, one must be female and the other male.  All Catholic godparents must be registered and participating in a parish and need to request a Sponsor Letter from their parish.

A Christian baptized in another community may assist as a Christian Witness at the ceremony, as long as a Catholic godparent is also present.

Anyone listed here is NOT eligible to serve as a godparent or Christian witness: a Catholic who is not yet 16 years of age OR who has not yet received both First Eucharist and Confirmation, a former Catholic, a non-Christian, and a Catholic who is in a marriage that is not recognized by the Catholic Church.

Every godparent is asked to be a true witness to the Lord and to the Catholic faith for their godchild.

› Marriage

If you've become engaged to marry, please contact our parish office before you make any definite plans or sign any contracts for a reception, etc.  The groom or bride themselves should contact our office.  Please do not rely on parents or grandparents to arrange your wedding ceremony.

Before any wedding dates can be discussed, an initial interview with the pastor is needed to make certain that both parties are free to marry in the Catholic Church.

When the decision is made with the pastor to set a wedding date, the couple will be asked to complete a marriage preparation seminar as well as the necessary official forms, ceremony planning, and an application for a civil marriage license from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Members of the Catholic Church may enter into marriage with individuals who are not Catholic provided that the Bishop's approval is given.

The pastor will present and discuss all pertinent information with each engaged couple.

Congratulations on your engagement!  Please contact the parish office first before making any further plans.  Thank you!
